Cal DB Nohl Williams: California's Football Snatcher
Cal sophomore Nohl Williams ready to prove he's one of the top defensive backs in the country
Nohl Williams loves to play football, that much is clear after watching him play. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound sophomore defensive back from Corona, California, has a passion for the game that is evident in everything he does on the field.
Williams, who was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, has quickly become one of the most valuable players on the California Golden Bears defense.
Last season, he started all 12 games at cornerback and finished with 33 tackles, an interception, and 10 pass breakups. He also had two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
One of the things that makes Williams such a valuable player is his versatility.
He can play both cornerback and safety and is also a very good special teams player. In 2021, he was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week after he blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown against Arizona.
Williams is a hard worker and is always looking to improve his game. He is a student of the game and watches film religiously. He is also a very coachable player and is always willing to listen to his coaches and teammates.
Williams is a rising star in the Pac-12 and is poised to have a breakout season in 2023.
He is a legitimate NFL prospect and could be one of the best defensive backs in the country by the time his college career is over.
Williams is excited about the upcoming season and is ready to prove that he is one of the top defensive backs in the country.
He is confident in his abilities and believes that he can help the Golden Bears win a lot of games in 2023.
"I'm really excited about the upcoming season," Williams said. "I think we have a chance to be a really good team. We have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, and I think we can make some noise in the Pac-12."
